After the massive success of Animal, Ranbir Kapoor is set to embark on his next venture, collaborating with director Nitesh Tiwari for the epic Ramayana, alongside Sai Pallavi. The actor is reportedly slated to commence filming in Mumbai in March, with an additional schedule planned for April and May 2024. The anticipation surrounding this cinematic spectacle is heightened. The TV show Ramayana remains popular to date and now Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram in the show has reacted to Ranbir’s casting.
During an interview with Bollywood Spy, Arun Govil said, “Woh ho sakta hai ya nahi ho sakta hai woh toh samay batayega. Pehle se kuch nahi kaha ja sakta kisi ke baare main. But, as far as Ranbir is concerned, he is a good actor. He is an award-winning actor. Jitna jaanta hoon main unko, bahut sanskaari bacche hain woh. Unke andar morals, sanskar, sanskriti hai. Maine dekha hai kayi baar unko. I’m sure that he will try to do his level best.”
Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Ramayana’s first part will end with Sita’s kidnapping. “As we all know, Ramayana is going to be a three-part film. What many are not aware of is how the makers have divided the story for each part. The first part will introduce Lord Rama, his family at Ayodhya, his marriage with Sita and their 14-year vanvas. The first part is expected to end with the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana. The makers don’t want to rush the story and want to narrate the epic in an entertaining, sensitive and cinematic manner,” a source revealed.
The source, however, was not aware if Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman will have a major role or if will he appear in a cameo in Part 1. The source added, “The second part is expected to depict Lord Ram and Lakshman meeting Lord Hanuman and the Vaanar Sena, the obstacles they face and finally the construction of Ram Setu. The third part is expected to be about the war between the Vaanar Sena and Ravana’s army, Ravana’s defeat and Lord Ram and Sita’s grand return to Ayodhya.”
Ramayana will reportedly be announced on the occasion of Ram Navami on April 17, 2024. Along with Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sai Pallavi and Yash. ALSO READ: Ranbir Kapoor to kick off Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana in March 2024: Report
