Alia Bhatt is possibly one of the few actresses who has enjoyed the success at the box office with female-centric drama Gangubai Kathiawadi making her one of the first actresses to have acted as a crowd-puller post pandemic. Readers would be aware that the film world has seen a massive change in trends of cinema after audiences have returned to theatres. Now, being added to the list of only a couple of women-centric films which fared well at the box office post pandemic is Crew starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu.
Considering that Alia Bhatt has always confessed her love and fandom for Bebo aka Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is incidentally also her sister-in-law, Bhatt became one of the first cheerleaders after the film received a positive response on the first day of its release. She took to her Instagram story to share a poster of Crew along with a congratulatory message where she also rooted for them further and said, “This Crew has smashed the BO. Congratulations to these outstanding women on and off camera.” Along with Kareena, she not only tagged actresses Kriti Sanon and Tabu, but also the women behind the camera, which were the producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.
For the unversed, Crew is a heist comedy featuring the three actresses together for the first time and also stars Diljit Dosanjh in a key role along with Kapil Sharma in an extended cameo. Followed by the great response from critics, the film, directed by Rajesh Krishnan, went on to collect about Rs. 10 crores on the first day making it one of the few female-centric films in recent times to have registered this kind of collection on its first day. In fact, predictions also suggest that the film will be faring better and registering higher collections during the weekend.
