Harshvardhan Rane, who is enthralled with the record his film Sanam Teri Kasam is creating, eight years after its re-release, recently shared these thoughts on nepotism and if opportunities are truly lost due to star kids’ name and fame. However, the actor has dismissed it as concern and insisted that, despite their privileged backgrounds, many of the star kids have already disappeared from the film scene and it is the outsiders who are actually getting their merit.
The actor opened up about his thoughts on nepotism in an interview with India Today, wherein he said, “Honestly, I am someone who believes in writing down things rather than just believing the voices floating around me. When people talk about star kids getting all the opportunities, I write their names and realise 8 out of 10 have already vanished from the scene. Hence, I am not able to feel resentment when I do the mathematics and realise how outsiders are the ones who continue to get good work. How can we not look at their success? I can thus never bring myself to complain about it."
Without naming anyone, Harshvardhan Rane continued to insist how the outsiders are ruling the roost. “This is not any kind of positive affirmation, but it’s facts. I think every time someone has a doubt, they should make a note. There are no biases or partialities, just hard facts. Not many star kids have found work eventually, and it’s the outsiders who are at the top," he added.
Meanwhile, Sanam Teri Kasam has become one of the highest grossing re-releases in India garnering immense attraction and eyeballs for its romantic storyline. With Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane as the leading lady, the film has been creating quite the buzz at the box office.
