Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, recently opened up about being diagnosed with dyslexia at the age of 6 or 7. He shared that his parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, discovered his condition while reading the script of the critically acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par. Speaking on Vickey Lalwani’s YouTube channel, Junaid explained how this realization shaped his upbringing and his parents' supportive role in helping him navigate the condition.
The Discovery That Changed Everything Junaid revealed that it was during the initial discussions of Taare Zameen Par, a film focusing on dyslexia, that his parents recognized the parallels with his own struggles. He recalled, “When Papa and Maa heard the script, they were like, ‘Ek second! We’ve seen this in our lives.’” This led Aamir and Reena to consult a specialist, who diagnosed Junaid with dyslexia. A Supportive Upbringing Despite the challenges, Junaid credited his parents for creating a nurturing environment. “Neither of my parents were particular about my studies,” he said. Instead of pressuring him to excel academically, Aamir and Reena encouraged him to do his best. Junaid expressed gratitude for their approach, adding, “Mom and Dad were like, ‘Make sure you do your best.’” Looking Ahead: Junaid Khan’s Acting Journey Junaid is now carving a path in the entertainment industry. His upcoming film Loveyapa pairs him with Khushi Kapoor, marking their first big screen project after Netflix debuts, Maharaj and The Archies. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025. Interestingly, the film’s marketing kicked off with a song release, creating buzz ahead of the trailer launch.
