Shruti Haasan criticized a social media user who recently encouraged her to talk with a 'South Indian accent'. Recently, the actress came to Instagram to host a 'Ask Me Anything' session. When a netizen asked her to say something in South Indian accent, Shruti lost her cool and told him it was 'not funny'.
Shruti Haasan, a Tamilian, criticized racism in response to the netizen's request, writing, "Ok… So this sort of bs micro racism is not okay. And it's not cute when you look at us and say idli dosa sambar either. And no, you don't imitate us well, so don't try and be funny.”
Shruti Haasan has appeared in numerous Tamil and Telugu films, including Srimanthudu, Puli, Poojai, etc, among others. She has also appeared in Hindi films such as Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Gabbar Is Back.
Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan was recently in the news for breaking up with her lover, Santanu Hazarika. Shruti and Santanu have been dating for a long time and were even living together for the past several years. They were frequently seen together and never hesitated to display their affection for each other in public. Santanu is a well-known doodle artist who also works in other mediums. He has collaborated with some well-known celebrities, including Raftaar, Divine, and Ritviz.
However, Shruti and Shantanu stopped following one other on social media earlier this year. Later, during an Instagram AMA session, Shruti was questioned if she is single or committed, and she said, "I don't enjoy answering these questions, but I am entirely single, unwilling to mingle, only working and enjoying my life."
On the work front, Shruti Haasan was last seen in Salaar. The film also had Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the key roles and was well received by all. Salaar reportedly grossed more than Rs 700 crores at the box office worldwide.
