‘Abba Dabba Jabba’ girl Upasana Singh from Judaai to make a movie titled after her popular dialogue; Johnny Lever to star in it
On Monday, the film Judaai starring Sridevi, Urmila Matondkar, and Anil Kapoor in the lead completed 25 years of release. The film sees a woman agreeing to get her husband married off to another woman for money. The film also had several interesting characters actors played by Upasana Singh, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, and Omkar Kapoor. Actor Upasana Singh who played the double role of Seema Bhagat and Vaani Bhagat Jain and was popularised as ‘Abba Dabba Jabba’ girl has registered the phrase as a movie title and will soon start work on it.
Talking to Hindustan Times about being a part of Judaai and how people still remember her for her mute character, Upasana said, "I played the roles of a mother and mute woman, who just says ‘abba dabba jabba’. I was not convinced about it but went with the director’s conviction. I put all my effort into expressing those words with different variations and moods. And it clicked! It made me the ‘abba dabba jabba’ girl. People still remember me for that dialogue and request me to say it. I feel blessed about it. Now, I am making a film titled, Abba Dabba Jabba. I have registered the title, and we are working on the script."
The film Abba Dabba Jabba will star Johnny Lever and Upasana’s son Nanak. She said that their characters were a huge part of the film and she wishes to carry forward the legacy. She also said that the film will take time to shape, but will be made for sure.
Upasana also shared that she had signed the film Judaai without reading the script as she was a huge fan of Sridevi and considered it a big moment to work with the star.

Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad to release in cinemas on May 27 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam
As entertainment returns to the silver screens in all its glory, it’s time for Kangana Ranaut to set the screens on fire. Ranaut’s next, Dhaakad, a mega action entertainer is all set to release on May 27 2022. The multi-lingual Pan-India film was to be released in April but with the third wave hitting the country, the makers decided to shift the release to May. The film will be available in four languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. This is Ranaut’s second pan India outing after the thunderous success of Thalaivii, based on the life of Jayalalitha.
Dhaakad touted as Bollywood’s first high octane spy thriller led by a female star, the film is made on a lavish budget. In terms of appeal, the film is also the country’s first big-scale multilingual project to be headlined by a female superstar. The actioner led by Ranaut, stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutt, and Saswata Chatterjee along with a power-packed ensemble cast.
Kangana Ranaut says, “The film had to be made on a certain scale that had to be tailored to the vast vision of its makers. India has never seen a women action entertainer of this scale. A story as paramount as this should reach maximum eyeballs and I am happy to announce that Dhaakad would be released in multiple languages. I can’t wait for the audience to meet Agent Agni. She will blow their minds with her fury and power.”
Producer Deepak Mukut adds, “We envisioned Dhaakad as a film that’s at par with international action films. We got a female superstar to headline it creates a new norm. After the success of Thalaivii, Kangana is a big favourite with the South market. We will be releasing the film in multiple regional languages. It’s a never-seen-before scale of release for a woman-led film.”
Producer Sohel Maklai says, “Over three years of blood, sweat and tears will give audiences India’s biggest female action star with the release of Dhaakad. We are immensely proud of the film and we’re sure it will resonate with people across India and beyond.”

Powerhouse performers Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah have collaborated for the first time for the film Jalsa directed by Suresh Triveni of Tumhari Sulu fame. The film sees Vidya Balan play the role of a journalist while Shefali Shah plays a cook. On Monday, the makers dropped the first look of Vidya and Shefali from the film. The film will have a direct to digital release on Amazon Prime Video on March 18.
Jalsa is a social drama-thriller about class differences in society and sees Vidya Balan sharing screen space with the power-packed performer Shefali Shah. In the film, Vidya plays the role of a TV news anchor, while Shefali portrays the character of her cook.
Jalsa is written by Prajwal Chandrashekar and Suresh Triveni, with dialogues by Hussain and Abbas Dalal. T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment have collaborated to produce the film which also stars Rohini Hattangadi, Iqbal Khan, Vidhatri Bandi, Gurpal Singh, and Surya Kasibhatla, (making his debut) with Manav Kaul in a special appearance.

She was paired opposite the poster boy of content cinema in India, Ayushmann Khurrana, and won unanimous acclaim for her acting skills. When the film was released on OTT in January 2022, Vaani was showered with love again as the film reached out to a different set of audiences who praised her for handling an unconventionally tricky role with so much sensitivity and grace.
Vaani is all set to be seen in the big-ticket action spectacle Shamshera that releases on July 22, 2022. She has been paired opposite the heartthrob of the nation, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vaani is hoping that this year turns out to be the best year of her career.
She says, "I’m hoping that it’s my best year in cinema. I’m still getting love from Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, a film that will always be supremely special for me. It is hugely gratifying for any artist to be validated with a lot of positivity for the work that you do and it happened to me and I couldn’t be happier. I wish to get the same love from people for what I have done in Shamshera."
About her performance in the Karan Malhotra directorial, Vaani says, "I have put myself out there in a big way and you will know what I mean when you see the film. It’s been a fulfilling experience to push myself so much for a movie. So, here’s hoping that after CKA, Shamshera too will be a film that people see and say that I can be trusted to do anything on screen, that I would never back down from being part of a novel vision, and that I would always try to reinvent myself into doing something new."
Shamshera is being produced by Yash Raj Films and will release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

Sonu Sood’s car confiscated by officials after he tried to enter a polling booth in Moga
Actor Sonu Sood's car was confiscated from Punjab's Moga district on Sunday where polling was underway. Officials said that action will be taken against the actor.
Sonu Sood's sister Malvika Sood is contesting the elections from Moga for the Congress party. Reportedly, on Sunday while polling was underway, Sonu allegedly tried to enter the premises. Moga district PRO reportedly said that Sood was trying to enter the polling booth when his car was confiscated. He was sent home and said that action will be taken if he steps out of his house.
Meanwhile, a few days back, Sood has alleged illegal money distribution activities taking place at several polling booths. He had said that they were made aware of threat calls at various polling booths by the opposition parties. He also said that it was their duty to go check and ensure fair elections. He claimed that was the reason he visited the polling booth.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonu announced he will be replacing Rannvijay Singha in the popular MTV show Roadies. "MTV Roadies has redefined the meaning of adventure for viewers across the country, with high-octane tasks through every edition. The journey emphasises on the importance of mental and emotional endurance along with physical strength, which is what drew me towards hosting the show,” the 48-year-old actor said in a statement.

Hrithik Roshan’s rumoured girlfriend Saba Azad spends time with his sons and other family members
Hrithik Roshan has been in the news lately after he was spotted at dinner dates with rumoured girlfriend and actress Saba Azad. Over the weekend, Saba spent some quality time with Hrithik and his family including his kids- Hrehaan and Hridhaan- and his parents Rakesh and Pinky Roshan.
Rajesh Roshan took to his Instagram handle to share a happy family picture. The family had gathered together on Sunday for lunch. Rajesh also shared a picture of a South Indian meal spread on a banana leaf.
Sharing the picture, Rajesh wrote, "Happiness is always around.. especially on a Sunday, specifically at lunch time." Reacting to the post, Hrithik wrote, "Hahaha true that chacha !! And you are the most fun." Saba, too, commented on the post saying, "Bestest Sunday".

While Hrithik and Saba have not officially spoken about their relationship, the latter seems to share a close bond with the superstar's family. Earlier, she was also seen being praised by Hrithik's ex-wife Sussanne. Sussanne was all praise for Saba's talent in singing when she had recently performed at a public event.
Sussanne shared a picture of Saba and Imaad performing together and showered Saba with love. "What an amazing eve..! You are super coool and supremely talented". Saba reposted the video and wrote, "Thanks my suzie, so so happy you were there last night."
Reportedly, Hrithik and Saba have been dating for the past couple of months and even took a trip to Goa in December last year. They were publicly spotted for the first time in January when they stepped out together from a restaurant in the city after a dinner date.
